Juneteenth Youth Quilting Project @ The Bee

4th Annual Juneteenth Youth Quilting Project @ The Bee

Join us at The Bee for the 4th Annual Juneteenth Youth Quilting Project—a joyful, hands-on celebration of heritage, creativity, and community. Rooted in the belief that preserving history begins with passing it on, this special program invites young people to learn the art of quilting and connect with a tradition that has long shaped Gee’s Bend.

As opportunities for intergenerational learning become rarer, this project creates space for children to stitch, listen, learn, and imagine themselves as the artists of the future—carrying forward both cultural knowledge and creative possibility. In honoring Juneteenth, we honor freedom, memory, and the power of teaching the next generation.

Open to children ages 3 and up, this day will be filled with food, fun, learning, and hands-on quilting activities in a welcoming, celebratory environment.

All are welcome. Come celebrate our heritage and tradition together.
