ALL ARE WELCOME! Juneteenth is a reminder that the failure of African Americans to preserve their history may cause them to lose vital information about their families forever. 

As our quilters age, our young people are losing opportunities to learn the art of quilting. The children don’t get to sit at Mama’s or Grandmama’s knee to learn the art anymore. We want to pass along this vital tradition so our children, too, may one day be the artists of their generation and also reap the financial benefits of our heritage.

The FQBL honors and celebrates Juneteenth by passing this great piece of our history on to our young people.

We are inviting children ages 3 and up to join...Food, fun, and learning to celebrate our heritage and tradition!
