The Freedom Quilting Bee Legacy offers a monthly Quilt Workshop to visitors of the community. The sessions are taught by local Gee’s Bend quiltmakers.  Workshop participants will learn to piece the top of a quilt block, add the batting and sew the backing of a 12”x12” quilt “block”.  

Time spent with the quilters will provide insight into their art, their lives and the history of the communities that have produced meaningful and significant textile arts for the world. You will also come to understand and appreciate that quilting is a way of life.  Remarkable quilts are woven and given for births, graduations, marriages, and other celebrations. 

The one-on-one time you will enjoy with these women will be an experience to treasure.

Cost for this experience: $200 per person includes all materials and lunch prepared by local caterers.
